Atlas® Announces Retirement of Schimmel, Promotes Johnson and Dasher to Senior Director Roles

EVANSVILLE, IND. (May 16, 2023) — Following nearly 40 years at Atlas ® Van Lines, today Jeff Schimmel announces his intent to retire on August 31, 2023. Schimmel most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations.
 
Ben Johnson is being promoted to Senior Director, Operations for Atlas Van Lines. Johnson joined Atlas in 2011 and has held roles with increasing responsibility in household goods (HHG) and logistics, including HHG containerization sales; HHG dispatch and planning; marketing; project management; and national account management. Most recently, Johnson managed the transition of Titan Global Distribution to Atlas Logistics.
 
In his new role, Johnson will be responsible for operations and claims services. The alignment of operations and claims under Johnson’s leadership will link all activity of the physical move to improve Agent and customer experience. Johnson joins the Atlas Van Lines Senior Leadership Team with his promotion. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Southern Indiana.

Megan Dasher is being promoted to Senior Director, Operations for Atlas Logistics®. Dasher will expand her role to assume responsibility for logistics account management and project management. Dasher joined Atlas in 2013 and has held numerous roles and responsibilities in logistics pricing and brokerage operations, excelling in developing her team and achieving results.
 
As Senior Director, Operations, Dasher will focus on driving efficiencies and improved margins in all product lines and will continue to develop Atlas’ workforce talent and drive the company’s continued growth in all product lines. Dasher will remain a member of the Atlas Logistics Senior Leadership Team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and a Masters in Public Service Administration from the University of Evansville.
