Recap of 2024 Regional PVO Meetings
The safety, success, and recognition of Atlas® Professional Van Operators (PVOs) is a top priority. Each year, the company holds regional conferences specifically for PVOs and Operations personnel to update them on important initiatives, compliance and safety information, and more. Below are some highlights from this year’s meetings.
- CARB Clean Truck Check
- Clean Truck Check is designed to ensure trucks operate at maximum efficiency for the life of the vehicle and to help California meet its air quality standards.
- Testing Frequency
- Non-OBD equipped vehicles: 2 times per year
- Agricultural vehicles and California registered motorhomes: once per year
- CSA
- 1,765 inspections in the last two years
- Inspections covered unsafe driving, hours of service, vehicle maintenance, controlled substances, and driver fitness.
- Rule Changes
- Many rule changes are being implemented, including rules regarding accident reporting, DOT inspections, safety program rules, training requirements, missing/late logs, ELDs, violation convictions, Non-CDL truck weight limits, cameras, and more. - Drug & Alcohol Testing
- All Atlas qualified van operators are subject to drug and alcohol testing.
- The DOT 5-panel controlled substance test is used for both CDL and Non-CDL commercial motor vehicle operators.
- Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT)
- TAT’s mission is to educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of key industries to combat human trafficking.
- Professional drivers are the eyes and ears out on the roads and can be trained to look for red flags of human trafficking and report them appropriately.
- First ever Atlas BRAVO PVO Truck Show
